NOSA Logistics Celebrates Mandela Day With The Baby House Westville

Posted on: Jul 19, 2019, in Social Responsibility

Staff at NOSA Logistics head office got a chance to spend time with the babies of The Baby House Westville. Thank you to the The Baby House Westville for letting us visit for the day.

The Baby House Westville is a safe house for abandoned babies situated in the suburb of Westville, Kwa-Zulu Natal. It is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO:153-305) and Public Benefit Organization. The primary focus of The Baby House Westville is to care for and nurture babies until such a time that they are adopted into loving homes. The babies are placed at the safe house by a registered social worker who either works with mothers before the birth or is contacted by the relevant authorities in the case of abandonment. The babies arrive within days or sometimes hours after birth. The safe house can accommodate up to six babies at a time.

The running of The Baby House Westville requires frequent and on-going fundraising as government childcare grants are sporadic and corporate sponsorships are difficult to obtain. Community awareness and donations allow the home to continue to exist and care for one of the most valuable but vulnerable sectors of our society
