This unit standard is for people who move, pack and maintain stock in a Distribution Centre or Warehouse and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

It is desirable for learners wishing to achieve this unit standard to be competent at:
  • Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4 or equivalent
  • If the learner packs stock using any form of machinery such as a forklift/conveyer belt, crane etc then he/she must meet the requirement for licensing before embarking on this unit standard.

The qualifying learner is capable of:

  • identifying appropriate areas for packing stock
  • moving stock to and pack stock in an identified location• moving stock to and pack stock in an identified location
  • preventing shrinkage and losses while moving, packing and maintaining stock
  • maintaining stock in the DC.
